Weekend Takeaways

This past weekend I went to the Beth Moore Living Proof Live event. This is her last round of these live events. It was a blessing to be a part of it.

I love seeing people live, whether it is an author, Bible teacher, or Christian musician that I read and listen to. There is something about being live where you can truly see the heart of someone. I saw Beth Moore years ago, and I have loved her bible studies.

I can say the only difference I have seen over the years is that her passion for God and His Word is deeper than ever, and she loves His church and His people. Her heart for us here in New England is a blessing to see. There are many speakers and musicians that just don’t come here anymore, or they don’t come very often. She asked to come back.

When my friend and I got there, I let them know I was deaf with bilateral cochlear implants and that I needed to sit up front. I found out there was going to be a sign language interpreter, and my friend could sit with me. My heart jumped for joy. I was incredibly excited. It is rare that I can have both an interpreter and be able to sit with friends and family.

This church was amazingly accommodating.

There was another young girl in her twenties who was going to be there, and I was elated to meet someone else who was like me.

The music and worship time was powerful, and I actually recorded everyone singing together. One of my favorite sounds is hearing people singing together in one voice to the Lord. It makes me dream about what heaven will be like.

Then the word came. We were in Revelation, with some side scriptures in other places. This year as I have written my second book and studied scripture a little deeper, I have been continually amazed at how scripture ties in together perfectly. Every prophecy fulfilled. People look at the Bible as man-made, but the truth truly is that:

All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for coreection, and for training in righteousnes, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work. 2 Timothy 3:16-17

If we search the scriptures and really study them, with a heart to see and hear and ask the Holy Spirit to lead you into all truth, we will see it.

I truly encourage you to do it. There was so much confirmation of things God had been showing me and sharing with me. I love that God does that.

I will share some of those things more specifically a little later.

A lot of things have been said about Beth Moore along the way, and she has not always been treated well. I can tell you, her heart is towards the Lord, and she rightly divides the word of God. She has a passion for God, His Word, and His people, and it is undeniable.

We have to be careful and watchful because there are those who are not, and we need to test every spirit as the Lord does; that is important. Unfortunately, there are those who can be deceiving and those who do not represent the Lord well, but I can say after seeing her at least four times in my life, from younger years to now, she is the real deal.

I was grateful for the opportunity to go, to sit in the word with others, and to have a sign language interpreter, and funny enough, one of the sign language interpreters is a lady who used to interpret for me in the past. It was a beautiful reconnection. I made new friends and worshiped in sign language as well as voice.

The truth is I live in two worlds, the deaf world and the hearing world. Cochlear implants don’t make me a hearing person, but I am in the hearing world all the time, whether my cochlear implants are on or off. It was a true blessing to have both worlds this weekend. It was amazingly helpful in understanding things going on, and it gave me an opportunity to use the sign language skills I do have.

I wasn’t sure if I was going to go this weekend. I kept feeling like God was prompting me to go, but I wasn’t sure, so I asked Him. Am I supposed to go, and not a couple days or so later? My friend reached out and asked me if I wanted to go.

If you feel like God is telling you something and you aren’t sure, ask Him… He will answer.

This is our personal and relational God.

I had nothing but confirmation those two days that I was supposed to go and to be there.

I am thankful I didn’t just blow off that prompting. I am grateful I asked Him.

This is the rhythm of a relationship with God. It is living together with Him, seeking Him first and abiding in Him. It is letting Him guide our steps.

I can’t wait to see how He uses it all for where He is leading me.

Are there things you have felt prompted to do or places to go? Do you hear God calling you to something?

Ask Him. The Bible says if we lack wisdom, we ask Him, and we have not because we ask not.

Sometimes the answers come quick, like this one, other times not so much, but our God answers.

Don’t blow these things off or brush them off as just your own mind or something; make sure you go to God. Don’t miss out on all God has in store for you and your life.

Let me know how I can pray for you!

Have a beautiful day in Jesus!
