Beyond the Bio: Why I’m Still Saying Yes

Fifteen years later here I am still saying, “Yes,” to God in my writing and serving here on A Renewed Creation. It isn’t a huge platform, and it has had very slow growth, so some of you may be asking, “Why do you stay?”

I have gone through many phases here on my website and social media. It has been a journey continuing to go back to God and asking, “Who am I in this, and who have You created me to be here, and what is my purpose?”

I have taken time to learn all the things. I have taken courses, watched videos and podcasts, and read a million things, telling me who I should be here.

All the while God is watching me on my hamster wheel of striving and trying in my own strength and understanding to figure this out.

This year has been a year of ‘beholding.” That has been my word this year.

God has been teaching me this year to seek first His kingdom, not just sometimes but all the time and everyday. He has been teaching me to be still and know Him, not just for a few moments at a time but everyday and all the time.

My daily prayer has been, “I surrender my plans for Your steps.”

As I have been learning to live this way more consistently, the more I behold Him.

The more I see Him in my moments and days. The more I see beauty where I might have missed it before. The more I hear what He is saying to me and see what He is showing me in my days and in my life.

I am more present.

I keep saying, “Yes” to each new step, without having to know the whole picture and that is victory.

I am saying yes, even fifteen years later because everytime I want to give up or ask if I am really even making a difference or if it is worth it, He keeps encouraging me, He gives me a glimpse of what He is doing, and He confirms this is where He has me.

I keep saying, “Yes” because He keeps saying, “Yes” and until He stops saying, “Yes”, you will keep finding me here.

One of my prayers was always, “If I had to go through the things I did and even continue to go through, would He not let it be wasted?” and “A Renewed Creation is part of the answer to that prayer.

I want to talk about those things no one will talk about. I want to share those deep and even painful feelings and love each other to heal and grow. I want to share together what God is showing and teaching us. I want to share our burdens and our joys, to mourn with one another, carry each other’s burdens together in prayer, and share in our joys and cheer each other on to victory.

This is what community in Jesus is.

I pray this will be a place where you will want to stay, linger, and be encouraged. God is continuing to grow the vision for here on the website and on Substack for how we can build community here on A Renewed Creation, and as He gives me the steps, I will be sharing those with you.

For those who have been here a long time, thank you for walking through this process with me and for your love and support. It means a lot. For those who are new, welcome, and I look forward to getting to know one another and building community here with all of you.

Thank you for saying, “Yes” with me!
