Making Your Home Your Happy Place: A Real-Life Guide to Decluttering Without the Overwhelm by Katy Joy Wells
Have you ever felt stuck on the hamster wheel of clutter or trapped in an endless cycle of trying to care for your home?
For me, it has been a season of change, and if I am going to stay organized and fully step into the things God has called me to do, something has had to shift.
I wasn’t sure why I always felt stuck, how to change my mindset, or how to create a healthier rhythm in my home and life.
I LOVE to read, and it is often how God helps me with practical, tangible things, creating better systems, new perspectives, and healthier habits. This season has been no different.
Making Home Your Happy Place: A Real-Life Guide to Decluttering Without the Overwhelm has a uniqueness that sets it apart from the other books I have read.
So often, I approach books with a “just tell me how to fix it” mentality. But this beautiful book helped me dig into the deeper why behind what I do and don’t do. Katy Joy Wells gently helped me uncover some root issues while also providing practical systems for moving forward, without the pressure to be perfect or perform.
She was incredibly helpful in giving me some peace in the middle of the process, which is the hardest place for me.
Katy Joy Wells helps you understand the ‘why’ behind your clutter and the things you hold on to. Drawing from her own experiences, the stories of others, and simple, helpful systems, she meets you where you are and helps you move toward building a home that feels healthy, peaceful, and restful for you and the people you love.
This is one of those books you’ll keep on your shelf and return to again and again. I’m excited to continue working through it and making progress one step at a time.
I highly recommend this book, and it would make such a thoughtful gift for a friend, too!
And because you’re all my friends here, I’m giving away a copy to one of you! If you’d like to enter, share in the comments why you want to win this book.
I will announce the winner on Monday.

This book sounds delightful…right up my organizational alley! I’ve always enjoyed learning new systems of home/life management. I’m curious what unique methods and challenges I would find in this resource. I’m especially interested in discovering the “whys” behind my organizational practices. I’m not sure I’ve ever really considered just why or how I do what I do when it comes to home management.

I would love to win this book because I am in dire need of decluttering my house. I have my parents’ stuff, my husband’s parents’ stuff, my kid’s stuff (they are adults now), and all of my deceased husband’s things. Every time I think about clearing it out by myself, I get so overwhelmed that I quit before I even begin. I could definitely use a guide!

As my husband gets ready to retire next year, it is time to downsize! I’ve tried several times, getting part of a room done and then run out of time in that day. By the time I return to it, it is worse that it was before. And now I wonder where do I start!. Invite someone over for “coffee”? Too much clutter to feel comfortable with even a long time friend to come and help.
