God is Our Creator: Part 2

A few weeks ago, I wrote the first part of this blog, and we talked about God as our Creator, being the Creator of ALL things. There are many scriptures that talk about God as the Creator of all things. I want to encourage you to explore more of those yourself.

This week, we are going to talk about God as our Creator in a personal nature.

God is in the Details

Gen 1:26-27 NLT—”Then God said, ‘Let us make human beings in our image to be like us. They will reign over the fish of the sea, the birds in the sky, the livestock, all the wild animals on the earth, and the small animals that scurry along the ground. So God created human beings in His own image. In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.

It’s incredible to watch your children being born, and you hear people debating all the time who the little one looks like. Our children often reflect us in their physical nature, their personalities, and even the skills they are good at sometimes.

God’s Word is so detailed. You can see this in our own families. Just like God created Adam and Eve in His own image, so it continues as human beings have had children and families.

He is very specific about this here, as well as the truth that He created male and female. There are no other genders created. Anything outside of male and female is a man-made gender.

Take some time to ponder that YOU are made in the image of God! It’s an incredible reality. Think about God’s characteristics and write down some things you see in yourself that are characteristics of Him.

Psalm 139:13 -16(NLT): says, “You made all the delicate inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb.” Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous —how well I know it. You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. You saw me before I was born. You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was laid out before a single day had passed.”

God Creates Purposefully

Ephesians 2:10 (CSB) – For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared ahead of time for us to do.

God has created us with great and intentional purpose. God doesn’t do anything by accident. Even the things we find annoying about ourselves, He will use for His good and His glory. He doesn’t make mistakes.

We are His Children

2 Corinthians 6:16-19 (NAB)

Or what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; just as God said, “I will dwell in them and walk among them; I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Therefore, come out of the midst and separate,” says the Lord. And do not touch what is unclean, and I will welcome you. And I will be a father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters to Me,” says the Lord Almighty.

There are many scriptures in the Bible that talk about us as His children. I want to encourage you to look at those, study them, and hear what God is saying to you.

Have you walked away from God because you have been hurt by others? Have you put other things before Him in this life?

I have done both in my life, knowingly and unknowingly.

He has created us intentionally and purposefully, and He has called us His. Will we come back from the foreign lands we have gone to?

Will we let go of the things of this world for something way better… a relationship with our creator?

You were created for a relationship with our Creator. Even when sin entered the world, He loved us so much that He made a way through Jesus so we could have a restored relationship with Him.

I pray you will receive that gift today.
